From August, AI-made content shown to Europeans has to admit it
From 2 August, any AI system serving people in the European Union must mark the content it generates, and chatbots have to say up front that they are not human. Realistic but fake images, video, and public-interest writing will need clear labels, with no grace period for unlabeled deepfakes. The bet underneath is that trust now comes from disclosure, so the human choice becomes what you put your name to and what you flag as machine-made.
For youOn anything you publish with AI to a European audience, start labeling it as AI-made now, because the person who is openly honest about what a machine produced tends to read as more trustworthy, not less.
