A hands-on online programme for university students

Find your path in the future of work.

Explore what AI could mean for your future, while learning to use it on a real project. Over four weeks, work with other students on a challenge from a real organisation. Build your own AI workspace, explore your next career steps, and discuss how you want AI to fit into your life.

Eight live online sessions. No coding experience needed.

WHAT YOU TAKE AWAY

What you will work on and take away

A Future of Work Challenge Partner is an organisation that brings a real problem for your team to work on.

Plan your next steps

Explore how AI could change work in fields that interest you. Build a plan for what to learn, try and pursue over the next twelve months.

Build your own AI workspace

Set up AI on your laptop with your materials and instructions. Learn to give it work, check the results and decide what to use.

Build something someone will use

Work with a small team on a real organisation's problem. Get feedback from the person you are building for and improve your solution.

Develop your own view of AI

Discuss difficult questions with other students, including which decisions you would hand to AI and which you would keep. Write a short statement explaining your position.

Your team shares the Challenge Partner's project. You build your own AI workspace, which the programme calls a personal AI operating system, with your materials and instructions. In the final session, you adapt it to a task from your own week.

WHY IT EXISTS

Build experience before your first job

When you apply for an internship or your first job, it helps to have something you can show and explain. During the Accelerator, you work with a small team on a problem an organisation needs help solving. You try an approach, get feedback from the person who will use it, and improve what you built.

You leave with a project you contributed to and experience you can draw on when deciding what to do next.

FOUR WEEKS · EIGHT SESSIONS

What you will do each week

Every session combines project work with time to explore your next career steps and discuss a difficult question about AI.

  1. WEEK 1

    Get started

Get started with your AI workspace

Set up AI on your laptop, read the project brief, and explore how AI could change the work you want to do.

    Meet your Challenge Partner

    Partner introduces the challenge

Hear the problem from your Challenge Partner, agree what your team will work on, and write instructions for how your AI should help you.

  2. WEEK 2

    Understand the problem

    Understand the problem

Map how the person you are helping does their work. Check the map with them and identify what needs improving.

    Explore possible solutions

Develop three possible approaches, explain what each would test and cost, and teach your AI to repeat one useful task.

  3. WEEK 3

    Build and improve

    Build your first solution

    Partner chooses an approach

Your Challenge Partner chooses an approach. Agree what success looks like, then build and test a first version on a real example.

    Test and improve

Ask the person using your solution to try it again. Make one improvement, test it on the same three examples, and record what changed.

  4. WEEK 4

Hand over and take it forward

Help someone use what you built

Stop adding features. Write a short guide, watch someone use your solution without your help, and improve the instructions where they get stuck.

Present your work and make it your own

    Partner gives feedback

Demonstrate your solution on an example your Challenge Partner brings and hand it over. Then spend forty-five minutes adapting your own AI workspace to a task from your week.
